PeteAn accomplished musician from the Windy City, Pete not only plays a variety of guitars and sings, but also does the bulk of the arranging and song selection. The rest of the band would like to have more input, but Pete owns the PA gear and the van, so what can you do? And yet he doesn’t flaunt his power, letting the other Tunas believe that the band operates as a democracy. Pete and John Gelderloos are the proprietors of Rainbow Music on Leonard St, growing the business from fledgling vision to thriving respectability. Love those Tuna discounts!
MarkMark maintains his sense of humor both on and off the stage, regaling listeners with implausible stories. Playing bass without a drummer, the boy manages to keep the tempo tight while showing off his flashy riffs. He is recognized as the founder of the “Buy-the-Band-a-Beer-Night” phenomenon, and is first in line when hearing the words “road trip”. On those rare occasions when he’s not hanging with the band, he stays busy as the owner/operator of Accu-Temp Mechanical Services.
DaveThe least musically-educated in the band, Dave wears cool shirts and hip shoes to get by. He saved a lot of cash by never taking music lessons. After all, many successful musicians can’t read music, so what’s the big deal? The world isn't going to stop turning because of a few wrong notes. Just call it jazz. Dave is saying goodbye to his career as a Quality Engineer so he can practice scales, and may find some time to clean the garage.
ScottThe newest Lazy Blue Tuna, Scott joined the band in early 2007, replacing original member and long-time friend Bob Keeley. Before long, his enthusiasm and work ethic kicked the rest of the Tunas into high gear, and his vocal abilities have carried the band into uncharted territory. Scott sometimes channels Roy Orbison during a performance, an eerie and unsettling experience. Away from the stage, he excels as an independent contractor for tile design and installation. Eventually, all of the Tunas will be showing off their stunning kitchens and stylish bathrooms. |
